DescriptionMt. Everest (8,848 m) is peaking over the ridge, just right of the center of this photo. The obvious peak on the far left is Pumori (7,161 m). The valley in the bottom of the photo is occupied by the Khumbu glacier which is fed by ice coming down the two icefalls that are visible. Everest, in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal, is the highest peak in the world. Click on the link below for a larger view of Everest's summit.
