DescriptionDolomite, CaMg(CO3)2 (calcium magnesium carbonate), is a common sedimentary rock-forming mineral that can be found in massive beds several hundred feet thick. Here we see crystals of dolomite with classic rhombohedral shape. They are on top of a dolostone. This specimen is 9 cm across.
