| Description | The green material is malachite, Cu2(CO3)(OH)2, (copper carbonate hydroxide). The orange-brownish material is siderite, FeCO3, and some limonite. The small darker black-purple patches in the center of the sample are bornite, Cu5FeS4. White crystals, mostly around the edges, are calcite, CaCo3. This sample is 8 cm across. |
