Title | Pseudostructure |
---|---|
Description | Psuedostructure. Overprinted set of Liesegang bands representing at least three different stages of rhythmic precipitations of iron oxide fronts in concentration gradients of groundwaters moving in different directions at different times. The rock is a flat lying Cretaceous sandstone with the channel-like festoons sub-parallel to bedding. However, the festoons are not channels; the true bedding is relatively planar, parallel to the iron stained lines at the bottom of the image. This is from the east coast of Australia, south of Brisbane. |
