---|---|
Description | Folded fold. An older, isoclinal and nearly recumbent fold in white has its axial surface (S1) represented by the white board; its hinge or axis (L1) is parallel to the white pipe and trends toward the right rear of the photo. A second, superposed fold set in red has a nearly vertical axial surface (S2) with its hinge or axis trending toward the left rear of the photo. This fold in the Cambro-Ordivician Conestoga Limestone is the basis of the annotated sketch of multiple fold terminology and its application to the Martic problem of Pennsylvania by D.U. Wise, in Studies of Application Geology, Central and Southern (the Cloos Volume), Fisher et al., ets., p. 317-334, Interscience Publishers, 1970. |
