DescriptionUtah's Great Salt Lake is responsible for depositing massive amounts of salt in central Utah. Here we see salt deposits that extend to the horizon. Besides halite (NaCl), also called table salt, other minerals were deposited as the Great Salt Lake dried up or migrated. These include a number of potassium, magnesium and sulfur bearing minerals.
