| Description | Tremolite is a form of asbestos and also a member of the amphibole family. It has the chemical formula Ca2Mg5Si8O22(OH)2. Tremolite is a fairly common mineral. It is also an important temperature indicator for petrologists because at high temperatures it will convert to dolomite. This sample is about 7 cm. |
