Description | Tremolite is a form of asbestos as well as a member of the amphibole family. Tremolite's chemical formula is Ca2Mg5Si8O22(OH)2. Tremolite is fairly common. It is an important temperature indicator for petrologists because it will convert to diopside at high temperatures. These samples are about 8 cm. |
