Title | Stibnite with pyrite and chalcedony, Cohenour, Ontario |
Description | The gray material is fine grained stibnite. When fine grained, as in this sample, stibnite is difficult to identify without a chemical analysis. Stibnite, Sb2S3 (antimony sulfide), is the most important ore mineral of antimony (Sb); it is found in many parts of the world. In this specimen it is accompanied by minor pyrite (golden color) and white-gray chalcedony. The specimen is 8 cm across. |
