DescriptionFluorite, CaFs, comes in many colors, but this purplish hue is perhaps most common. Crystals are typically cubic, like the ones shown here. In this specimen, 8 cm across, fluorite cubes are embedded in apatite, Ca5(PO4)3(OH,F,Cl), the most common phosphate mineral.
