Title | Wavellite from Montgomery County, Arkansas |
Description | Wavellite, the green mineral in this specimen, often shows a radiating globule crystal habit. You can see this if you look closely at the globules on the right side of the photo. The radial clusters may sparkle and show an interesting play of colors, so wavellite is prized by some mineral collectors. Wavellite has formula Al3(PO4)2(OH)3•(H2O)5. This specimen is 6 cm across. |
