| Description | Selenite, CaSO4•2H2O, is a clear generally colorless variety of gypsum. However, this sample is green because of minor amounts of zinc in the mineral. Selenite often shows a pearl-like luster and is described as having a moon-like glow, but in this sepeciment the green color dominates. This sample is 9 cm across. |
