DescriptionPyrite (FeS2), sometimes called “fool's gold,” often forms bright metallic brass yellow crystals. It occurs in many shapes, but the most common crystals are pyritohedrons or cubes. Crystals may be intergronw and crystal faces may show striations (this specimen). This specimen is 14 cm across.
