DescriptionCerussite, PbCO3, is a minor lead ore mineral. This sample comes from Broken Hill, Australia, a well-known mining area. Cerussite specimens can be quite beautiful. Cerussite has high luster, and some specimens are brilliant or sparkly like diamonds. Crystals may grow together and twin to form interesting structures. This specimen is about 7 cm across and contains some orange limonite coating.
