Description | Ancylite is a hydrated strontium-cerium carbonate mineral. Its color is predominantly pink, rarely pale orange and pinkish gray in larger masses. This 7 cm wide sample is fine grained, but ancylite sometimes occurs as megascopic sharp single or groups of crystals. It is found in hydrothermal veins and in pegmatites, generally associated with felsic alkalic rocks or carbonatites. |
