| Description | Azurite (the blue mineral) is a carbonate with composition Cu3(CO3)2(OH)2. Here it is accompanied by rusty orange limonite (a mixture of Fe-hydroxides). Although this sample is drab, azurite, an important copper ore mineral, sometimes is found as spectacular showy samples. This sample is about 7.5 cm across. |
