Description | Azurite, Cu3(CO3)2(OH)2, (copper carbonate hydroxide) sometimes forms spectacular blue specimens, but this specimen is tarnished. Azurite is a copper ore mineral, and is also used for ornamentation. Small stones go in jewelry, slabs are used to make other objects. This sample is 9 cm across. |
