DescriptionAlthough not especially common, antlerite (the green mineral) is an important copper ore mineral at the famous Chuquicamata copper mine (the largest open pit mine in the world) in Chile. Antlerite has composition Cu3SO4(OH)4, copper sulfate hydroxide. Antlerite typically forms tabular to acicular or fibrous crystals.
