DescriptionGoblin Valley State Park is best known for the intriguing shapes eroded out of the Entrada sandstone. The Summerville Formation is tens of meter above the Entrada and crops out in steep cliffs. This photo is about 1.5 meters tall. The many layers vary in sand to silt ratio; thin white layers of gypsum can be seen.
