TitleTenaya Lake, Yosemite National Park, USA
DescriptionTenaya Lake is the largest lake in Tuolomne Meadows, the spectacular rock and pine highland of Yosemite National Park. Tuolomne is especially well known for its bald rock domes - exposures of the Sierra Nevada Batholith - produced by a combination of glacial action and exfoliation. The batholith is a plutonic mass of rocks (mostly granodiorite) ranging in age from about 220 to 75 m.y. The batholith is actually composite, consisting of a large number of different plutons.
