TitleSulfur
DescriptionThe mineral sulfur is one of the few minerals composed of only one element (also called sulfur). Typically fine grained, when coarsely crystalline it can make beautiful mineral specimens. Fine quality examples are much sought after. The unmistakable deep yellow color is not matched by any other mineral (except perhaps orpiment) and the nicely shaped crystal forms of sulfur add to its attractiveness. It has a strong odor, which aids identification.
