| Description | Lehman Cave extends about a quarter mile into the base of the Snake Range in Great Basin National Park. The cave is in the Pole Canyon Limestone of Cambrian age. The limestone has been slightly metamorphosed, and so some geologists call it a low grade marble. Speleothems (cave formations) in the cave formed by the action of flowing groundwater. This photo shows soda straws and stalactites. |
