DescriptionTopaz comes in many different colors but has composition that is always close to Al2SiO4(F,OH)3. Minor and trace elements lead to the color variation. This golden brown variety from the Ouro Preto region of Minas Gerais State, Brazil, is sometimes called “imperial topaz.” When clear and flawless, it is the most valuable variety of topaz. This specimen is 6 cm tall.
