Title | Bentonite bed at Shadow Falls |
Description | A 0.6 m- (1.5 ft) thick bentonite bed can be seen as a sharp indentation in the ledge base near the top of the rock section. This bentonite is present in the Mid Ordovician Carimona Member (above hammer) in the Platteville Formation. Shadow Falls is on the Saint Paul West Quadrangle (7.5'), Ramsey County, Minnesota. This section is located on the bluffs of the Mississippi River at the end of Summit Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota. |
