DescriptionThis is an unusually large (6 cm tall) single crystal of apatite, Ca5(PO4)3(OH,F,Cl). It comes from a pegmatite in Quebec, just northwest of Ottawa, Ontario. The pegmatites, quarries and mines of that region are know for the many spectacular mineral specimens they produce.
