TitleShield volcanoes: View of Mauna Kea (left distance) and Mauna Loa (right distance) from Maui
DescriptionThis is a view from the highest point in Haleakala National Park on Maui, east across the ocean to Hawaii’s big island. The two mountains that can be seen on the big island are Mauna Kea (left) and Mauna Loa (right). Shiled volcanoes are often so large that they are hard to photograph. Fortunately, the Hawaiian islands provide room to step back and get a large view.
