TitleStudents examining migmatite outcrop at Ear Falls, Ontario
DescriptionThis spectacular outcrop, near the dam at Ear Falls Ontario, display migmatitic metasedimentary rocks. Prior to metamorphism, the rocks were interbedded graywackes and sandstone; the original comositional layers can still be distinguished dispite the metamorphism and anatexis (partial melting) that has occurred. These high-grade rocks contain abundant large garnet and cordierite porphyroblasts.
