| Description | This spectacular outcrop, near the dam at Ear Falls Ontario, display migmatitic metasedimentary rocks. Prior to metamorphism, the rocks were interbedded graywackes and sandstone; the original comositional layers can still be distinguished dispite the metamorphism and anatexis (partial melting) that has occurred. These high-grade rocks contain abundant large garnet and cordierite porphyroblasts. |
