DescriptionThe town of Mountain is built on one of glacial Lake Agassiz’s ancient shorelines (some 11,000 years ago). The Campbell Beach Ridge represents a still stand of the water level in Lake Agassiz that probably lasted about 100 years. It can be traced around the Red River Valley and is present on both the western and eastern sides of the Lake Agassiz plain in North Dakota and Minnesota.
