DescriptionZunyite, Al13O4(Si5O16)(OH,F)18Cl is a mineral chemically related to topaz, and structurally related to zoisite and lawsonite. Here it exists as small transparent gray-colorless glassy crystals in an altered rock from New Mexico. Zunyite most often occurs in highly aluminous metasedimentary rocks. It may be colorless, gray-white, pink, or reddish white. This specimen is about 5 cm across.
