Description | This is a fine-grained pink granitic rock composed of quartz, glassy feldspar (microcline and sodic plagioclase) and biotite. Some samples have irregular, more coarsely grained stringers and patches. The adjective aplitic is used to describe any fine grained intrusive igneous rock, but the rock name aplite is usually only used for fine grained rocks of granitic composition.
