Description | This large blue apatite crystal was purchased from a gem dealer, so the exact provenance is not known. It comes from Bahia State, Brazil, and is about 5 cm in longest dimension. The crystal is an imperfectly formed hexagonal prism with terminating hexagonal pyramids (poorly developed at one end). Note the poor cleavage perpendicular to the long dimension. |
