| Description | Mendipite, a lead oxyhalide (Pb3Cl2O2), generally is a soft, white, fibrous or columnar mineral found with other secondary lead minerals. Here mendipite blades, showing a slight pearly pinkish color, are intergrown with hydrocerussite (the darker mineral, a hydrated lead carbonate). This sample is about 3.5 cm across. |
