Description | Large tan barite (BaSO4) tabs, some appearing pseudo-hexagonal, are embedded in finer white calcite, CaCO3. Pyrite crystals, FeS2, generally about 1 mm across are scattered in the sample. No provenance data is available except that it comes from Joplin, Missouri, USA. This photo is about 5 cm across. |
