Description | Bazzite is the scandium rich variety of beryl, with the scandium replacing some of the aluminum. Usually it is classified as an individual mineral species and not as a variety of beryl. The chemical formula is Be3(Sc,Al)2Si6O18. Bazzite is named after the Italian engineer, A. E. Bazzi. This sample is approximately 11 cm. |
