DescriptionEnstatite is a member of the pyroxene family. The chemical formula for enstatite is MgSiO3 (magnesium silicate). Enstatite is a relatively common mineral and is found in metamorphic and some igneous rocks, as well as meteorites. The name comes from the Greek, enstates, meaning “opponent.” This sample is around 5 cm.
