Description | Spodumene is a member of the Pyroxene Group. It has the chemical formula LiAlSi2O6. Spodumene is a rock forming mineral in granites and pegmatites that bear other lithium minerals. Spodumene was only recently discovered in the past 3 centuries. Spodumene is from the Greek, spodoumenos, meaning “burnt to ashe.” This sample is about 5 cm. |
