Description | The dark black-gray material is fine grained stannite. Minor pyrite and quartz can also be seen. Stannite is a comparatively rare mineral with composition Cu2FeSnS4. It is difficult to distinguish from other dark colored dense minerals without chemical analysis. Commonly, it is steel-grey but may have an olive-green or yellowish tinge.
