Title | Sartorite with pyrite in dolomite |
Description | This 5 cm across pecimen is mostly dolomite but is notable because it contains a few dark gray masses of sartorite, the most prominent of which is just left of center in this photo. It also contains some golden pyrite. Sartorite is a rare lead aresenic sulfide mineral with composition Pb3As4S9. It is usually steel gray with a metallic luster and striated acicular to prismatic crystals. Its best known occurrence is at Lengenbach in Switzerland. |
