DescriptionThis sample contains mostly dark-brown to black sphalerite, (Zn,Fe)S. This variety of sphalerite is sometimes called marmatite or christophite. It generally is mostly ZnS with up to twenty percent FeS. Accompanying the sphalerite is golden-yellow chalcopyrite. The specimen is 14 cm across.
