DescriptionThe irredescent blue mineral is digenite, Cu9S5 (copper sulfide). It is an important ore of copper. Digenite, which does not generally form good crystals, can be confused with other copper sulfides. Lesser amounts of golden pyrite (iron sulfide) can also be seen in this sample wh ich is 9 cm across.
