Description | This sample, 7 cm across, contains white quartz and darker colored bornite. The bornite, normally brownish colored, has tanished and has a “peacock” coloration in some places. In fact, bornite is sometimes called “peacock ore.” Bornite, Cu2FeS4 (copper iron sulfide), is sometimes used as an ore of copper. |
