Description | This sample contains coarse dark brown sphalerite (Zn,Fe)S, books of silvery muscovite mica, and salmon colored K-felspar. It comes from a well know pegmatite mine in southern Maine and is 12 cm across. Sphalerite comes in many colors; this dark brown variety is one of the commoner ones. |
