Description | The dark gray-black mineral is bismuthinite (Bi2S3). Here it is fine grained and massive but it can occur as prismatic to needle like striated crystals or as fibers or foliated sheets. The gold mineral is pyrite (FeS2), commonly called “Fools Gold.” The specimen is 12 cm across. |
