Title | Taeniolite and plagioclase in pegmatite |
Description | Taeniolite has formula KLiMg2Si4O10F2. It is a lithium-bearing mica similar in many ways to lepidolite (but contains magnesium instead of aluminum). Here it is found in brownish flakey masses within an oligoclase (plagioclase) pegmatite. Minor light brown monazite is also present but hard to pick out. This specimen is 13 cm across. |
