Title | Antimony, Kern County, California |
Description | This is a sample of native antimony. When fresh it is silvery and metallic, but it quickly tarnishes when exposed to air. Without chemical tests, it cannot be distinguished from native arsenic. Native antimony is a minor ore of the element antimony (Sb). Most antimony comes from processing other minerals, such as stibnite, which are found in greater abundance. This sample is 5 cm across. |
