DescriptionVaterite, the white mineral, is a relatively rare polymorph of calcite and aragonite. It typically forms microscopic, thin long fibrous crystals or small, flat, platy crystals (this sample). Here it is accompanied by yellowish fluorite. This sample is about 7 cm in longest dimension.
