TitleHeliotrope
DescriptionHeliotrope is also known as bloodstone. Bloodstone is a green jasper dotted with bright red “blood” spots of iron oxide. It was treasured in ancient times and long served as the birthstone for March. This attractive chalcedony quartz is known as heliotrope because in ancient times polished stones were described as reflecting the sun. Many myths and powers are associated with bloodstone.
