Title | Gypsum from White Sands, New Mexico, USA |
Description | Most of the gypsum at White Sands is in the form of small sand sized grains. The gypsum sands make massive dunes that are popular tourist attractions. In some places gypsum crystals become cemented together around the roots of bushes. Even after the roots have decomposed, long trains of crystals remain cemented together. |
