| Title | Pumpellyite and glaucophane in a bluschist | 
| Description | This fine-grained metamorphic rock is a type of blueschist. It contains mostly glaucophane (bluish) and pumpellyite (light green) but is so fine grained the minerals are hard to distiguish.  Glaucophane is a sodic-amphibole, and pumpellyite is a Ca-Al-Mg mineral related to epidote.  This sample is approximately 7 cm across. |
