TitleRhyolite Porphyry, Chafee County, Colorado
DescriptionThis specimen is a gray, porphyritic rock, somewhat vesicular, with prominent phenocrysts of smoky quartz averaging 5mm in width and subhedral to euhedral phenocrysts of glassy feldspar averaging 4mm in length. Tiny garnet and topaz crystals occur in some vesicles. The sample is 11 cm wide.
